My Little Lamb

Isn't this little lamb sweet? I found her at the hospital thrift shop for a quarter. Can you imagine? As thrift shops go, this one is my favorite by far. It's great to support the hospital, and the shop is always full of fab vintage stuff. It's set in an adorable Cape Cod house, and every room is styled and sorted beautifully. The items are organized into the rooms where they would be used (fancy china and flatware in the dining room, dishes and cooking items in the kitchen, clothes in the upstairs bedrooms, linens in the linen closet, etc.) And every now and again you find a treasure like this one. Sounds like fun, right?

For the Super Men

I'll bet you didn't expect this picture! This Superman figurine stands tall atop a red plastic phone. My first phone. I remember how excited I was at the thought of getting my own phone in my bedroom as a kid, and my dad called me from a yard sale to tell me that he'd found the perfect one. And he came home with this one. Tall. Proud. Super, no doubt. I have to admit, I questioned it. But it worked somehow. And all these years later, I still have it. Thanks, Dad. You're the best.

This Little House

Wow! Where did May go? I can't believe how quickly this spring/summer is flying by...and how long it's been since I've posted. Oh dear, please forgive me. This time of year always brings guests to our house, so I've been doing a bit of reorganizing and rearranging (along with a bit of thrifting, of course). And speaking of thrift, here is one of my favorite finds. Aren't these little plastic doll clothespins sweet? They're just another example of a purchase I did not need but had to have. Hmm...maybe they would be a cute decoration for the laundry room. I love using old children's toys and books as decorative accents here and there. Does anyone else do this?
